The Collett Goods s is a class of small Great Western Railway Locomotives intended as a replacement for the earlier Dean Goods locomotives and used for medium powered freight.

A Great Western engine & coaches still wearing Great Western colours in the early 1950’s. Collett 22XX class 3203 and its two coach train stand ready to depart Blaenau Festiniog for Bala, boiler pressure on the red line as it blows off.

The crew of a down train at Trawsfynydd pose for the photographer as 2227 fitted with a GWR lettered ROD tender pauses on its way to Blaenau Festiniog on 20th July 1948. Seen under the road bridge some stock can be seen stabled in the Military Camp station headshunt. This engine could possibly have acquired its tender for seeing active service overseas or may have received it on a works visit
